Warning: A disgruntled, anti-social character has set up camp at the East Cape lighthouse car park (by the public toilet). We’ve been advised that it is best to avoid this person. That means avoiding the toilet at the car park. The nearest public toilet is in Te Araroa.
Also - the walking track from the toilet up to the lighthouse is closed due to storm damage. We recommend you start from further back up the road, at the last spot with views of the eastern horizon.
Due to workload limits we're only able to provide the East to West route files.
